I was able to make the most perfect jam from the most perfect strawberries. Tonight I will freeze four more quarts (whole or with sugar) and on Wednesday make a strawberry pie. Yum!

I think strawberry jam is the most beautiful jam. The jars shine like jewels.
My homegrown strawberries are stll small and green. If I can manage to protect them from the birds there will be enough for a tiny feast of fresn strawberries.
The strawberries look lovely. The store bought ones are not so great here. And my strawberry plants are just starting to produce - or maybe I have the same bird problem as Gill.

if ever there were such lovely berries in Amsterdam I might be brave enough to try some canning in my apartment kitchen.
